Preliminary Thoughts & Acknowledgments

Before I hand this over to Suzzan, I would like to share a few thoughts with you. First I want to thank Craig for his inspired work on my web-site. Too often those who work behind the scenes and are crucial to the project receive little recognition – Thank you Craig

In the following pages are accounts of my life in living color. The story is true and some of the content of this story is disturbing and difficult for me to say, let alone share with the world. I am not proud of some of the things I did during these times; as a matter of fact I am quite ashamed. Nonetheless, each event of my journey led to this point and therefore must be told.

As this is a recounting of my life my friends and family are often included in those accounts. Although Suzzan and I have tried to respect their privacy by only relating the most essential interactions I had with them, their unwitting contribution in my journey cannot be overstated. We have changed everyone’s name, but those who personally know me will recognize the times and events I am recounting.

I especially want to apologize to my dear ex-wife who tried so very hard to stand by me through the worst of it. Without your loving strength I know that I would not have survived to tell my story. It is my sincerest hope that although painful, my recounting of what happened will answer the many questions I know you still have. Please be assured that I feel the deepest shame for the distress I caused you.

I never in my wildest imagination thought I would be writing about Alien encounters in Seattle but unfortunately this is exactly what happened. The only life line available to me at the time was God.

Last but by no means least; I wish to thank Suzzan for helping me to tell my story. Without her insight and understanding into my deepest levels, this would have been a superficial narration. Instead, because she patiently pulled out every nuance of emotion from me, it became a gut-wrenching account of some of the most frightening, confusing, and ultimately earth-changing events of my life.

I.  Wondrous Announcement

January 2011 I heard “Guy is to become the interface for the Watchers for direct contact with Humanity. But first he must tell you how to uncloak him.” This message was so astounding that I immediately called Guy to ask him to come over to our house.

After I relayed the message, Guy shocked me by saying “I heard those exact words last November, but I didn’t tell you because it seemed so fantastic.” I asked Guy if he knew how I was to uncloak him and he told me that he wasn’t sure but would talk to God about it. I nodded and told him I wasn’t sure why, but it was important that he be the one to tell me how to uncloak him.

Talking the message over, we first wondered what being “the interface for the Watchers” meant. Many people claim to channel aliens and have presented authentic messages, so our question was why did they need Guy? It came down to the pillar I received at the beginning of our journey; “All channeled information is a mixture of truth and lies.” The reason was that in order to channel an entity, the channeler has to suppress his or her consciousness. This allows for the counterfeit spirit, which lies in the subconscious, to influence any message. Being the interface is completely different in that Guy will remain fully conscious.

To give you an analogy, it is like the Tok’ra on Stargate SGI that share a host’s body, taking turns to control who speaks. When either speaks, the other is completely cognizant of the conversation and can pick up where the other leaves off. It is the same with Guy only without a parasite within him. He is completely in control and the Watchers/aliens can only use his body when he permits it. Evidently from the moment of Guy’s birth, his body has been energetically preparing to be the interface, although he had no memory of it.

The message and its implications made us all realize that it was time for Guy to tell the world of his incredible experiences in 2004; the time when the Watcher/aliens began to physically prepare his body. When he left that day we believed that Guy was going to start posting his story on his Facebook page. Two days later he again shocked me when he said that he felt compelled to write about his drive to adopt celibacy. My first reaction was, why now? Wasn’t it more important to address his Watcher/alien encounters? But after contemplating it for a while I realized his need to adopt celibacy was inextricably linked to his preparation to become the interface for the Watchers/aliens.

In the article The Evolutionary Imperative to become Celibate, Guy wrote that at first he was unclear as to the significance of his drive to become celibate. Ironically it wasn’t until he shifted his focus from the physical to spiritual that he was able to look at his journey from an energetic and consciousness perspective. From that viewpoint he understood what part sexuality had played in his life that led to the whole Watcher/alien experience. Understanding that the sex-force or rather Life-force is not only the means for procreation but also for transformation, Guy realized that three girls/women with the same name (To protect their privacy we will call them Linda 1, 2, and 3.) were instrumental in his life’s path. Consequently, before we discuss his Watcher/alien encounters, we need to go back to what molded Guy to the man he is today.

II.  Molding the Clay

Guy was born March 29th 1964 in Spokane Washington. Interestingly, his birthday was also Easter Sunday that year. The youngest of four children, at first Guy’s life seemed perfectly normal with him attending a Catholic school and engaging in the usual childhood activities with his older brother and sisters. Like most children as a young boy he was curious about his body and at the age of five explored the difference between boys and girls with a girl the same age. Guy’s family moved to Montana when he was 6 and to quote him “my life was fantastic I golfed, fished, played football and basketball, and I thoroughly enjoyed living in Montana.” So Guy enjoyed an idyllic childhood for the next four years.

The first bizarre episode of a sexual nature happened when he was 10-years old, when a high school senior girl initiated sex. Guy describes this first sexual experience as “awkward”; hardly surprising as he was only 10-years of age. The girl was his best friend’s older sister. Looking back on the incident Guy relates his amazement that “it was even possible”, because he “didn’t know how she worked.” Still, it happened and afterwards he forgot the incident and went back to being a carefree kid having fun.

The following year when he was 11 Guy met Linda 1. He is not exactly sure how old she was but says, “She was out of high school, had a job, drove a car, and she was looking to get into a college.” Unlike his “one-night-stand” with his best friend’s sister, this young woman began taking guy out with his parent’s permission.

Guy had met Linda at a dance club for teenagers that he used to sneak into to play foosball. He also liked to dance and one night Linda started dancing with Guy. Striking up a conversation when the club closed, she offered to drive Guy home. Pulling up outside his house the young woman told the amazed 11-year old, “you’re not like most guys you never even made a pass at me.”

Guy recalls his confusion, “I was perplexed because it never even crossed my mind.” Nevertheless despite his confusion Guy continued seeing Linda, adding that “Linda lived in another town about 60 miles away and I remember going to her house with my brother and another friend to hang out with her and her sister. We stayed at her house for three days and I drank beer for the first time.” Their relationship became intimate after Linda allowed Guy to drive her car around town. After parking the car the young woman seduced the young 11-year old boy into having sex with her.

In recollecting the incident, Guy relates that afterwards “She said to me ‘now I’m not a virgin’, which at the time I really had no idea what that was, but I sensed it was important.” According to Guy the relationship was not just about sex, he and Linda had a real relationship. She visited Guy’s parent’s house regularly and played her guitar for him. He observes that “Linda loved poetry and was always writing me poems.” To emphasize how much the young woman saw them as boyfriend and girlfriend, Guy says, “After a vacation in Spain, she brought me back an expensive and beautiful necklace in the shape of a cross.”

Although, Linda visited Guy at his parent’s home, his parents obviously thought their son and the young woman were engaging in a harmless friendship and were unconcerned. Unfortunately to the 11-year old Guy it seemed his parents were compliant in what was happening to him. He tries to reason how Linda would act in such a way with an adolescent boy by surmising that she must have thought he was much older than he was. However, looking at the photo of Guy at that age (on his site in a karate uniform) I think it is highly unlikely that she thought he was a 16-year old.

Many years ago Guy had talked to me about the incident and how it had affected him. He explains, “At that time the mentality everyone had about being the proper age for a sexual relationship was much different than it is now, so at that time it wasn’t a big deal. But as I got older I realized that I was much too young for that kind of relationship and it took an emotional toll later.” It is only recently that Guy made peace with what happened and came to realize that his parents were not compliant with the affair.

In writing about this incident I kept coming back to the fact that two teenage girls had found an awkward 10/11-year old adolescent boy sexually exciting virtually at the same time. It is only recently that society has been presented with an older women falling for a teenager with the Mary Kay Letourneau case. However, that case was seen as an isolated incident and although we were appalled at the incident, we could accept it was possible for an older woman to fall in love with a 16-year old. Obviously there were more to Guys’ first sexual interludes than meets the eye. It was only when I remembered that Guy carried the consciousness of Solomon and his body had been prepared to act as the interface that a possible reason for the strange incidents presented itself. For instance, Solomon and his connection to the mysterious life-force Prana is thought provoking:

King Solomon was a master at using the natural forces for the good of his people. To access these natural forces requires using the Life-force within on the mental level. The Eastern name for the second or sacral chakra associated with the sex-force is Prana, which translates as Life. Wikipedia reports the meaning as “prana is the notion of a vital, life-sustaining force of living beings and vital energy, comparable to the Chinese notion of Qi. Prana is a central concept in Ayurveda and Yoga where it is believed to flow through a network of fine subtle channels called nadis. It’s most subtle material form is the breath, but is also to be found in blood, and it’s most concentrated form is semen in men and vaginal fluid in women…”
At the human level that essence is the Christ-consciousness that lies dormant within us until awakened. Put even more simply, the Christ-consciousness within us is the ability to create life as in procreation. It is important to understand that the so-called sex-force is misleading, because it has nothing to do with physical arousal. It literally is the mysterious life-force that literally creates life through the union of the sperm and the ova. The Buddha and The Christ through The Mysteries taught that in order to transform, an individual needed to temporarily convert his or her life-giving force in the form of the Christ-consciousness into a spiritually transforming force by awakening and raising the Christ-conscious up the spine to the mental level.

Gathering all the clues together, I was able to construct a hypothesis to the whole bizarre event with two young women. Guy was always destined to become the interface for the Watchers and was born with the consciousness of Solomon within him. I believe that although Guy was outwardly an innocent child, the force within him that was growing for him to fulfill his spiritual mission was tangible, and from a physical standpoint could be viewed like animal pheromones attracting a mate. The two young women caught in his energy field would not have seen Guy as a young boy, but as a powerful irresistible force. Of course, I am not making excuses for the young women, but simply extending a possible explanation for their behavior. Anyway, back in 1974/75 Guy was a long way from fulfilling his destiny and had no clue as to where his life was heading.

Returning to the timeline, when Guy was 12 his family moved to Seattle, Washington. It seems that distance did not lessen Guy’s pull for Linda and she visited him in Seattle. Although Guy was no longer interested in her as a girlfriend, he “felt really bad” for her. Maybe in an effort to comfort the young woman, Guy had sex with her in his parent’s house. But he had changed and Linda realized that Guy was lost to her. He confesses, “I do believe that she truly loved me but I didn’t know what love was.”

Life in Seattle was very different from Montana and Guy struggled with feelings of depression. He says that: “From the time I started Middle School I started smoking weed when I met a kid smoking in a tree. Back in Montana I was an exceptional athlete, but I had trouble adjusting and felt like I never fit in there. I was always a loner and when I lost interest in sports, I became even more detached.” Shrugging his shoulders Guy adds, “I guess I just found it easier to seek solitude.” Unfortunately, Marijuana was not the only vice Guy had discovered. As with so many young boys the 13 year-old Guy experimented with his parent’s alcohol and unfortunately found that it numbed his anxiety and gave him a feeling of wellbeing. I saw this as evidence of Guy’s unconscious need to forget the confusing time in Montana. He confesses shamefully, “I would sneak my dad’s alcohol and drink it on the way to school.”

Nonetheless, despite drinking and smoking Marijuana, not to mention falling in with a crowd that skipped school a lot, Guy made it through Middle School and moved onto high school. But he says things “weren’t much better” as he still could not settle down. Happily, one bright spot for Guy was his taking up the guitar. He relates this transpired through meeting a classmate from his Biology class in a local store close to his home. The boy (we’ll call him Hiro) was “a foreign exchange student from Japan and he said he was a professional guitar teacher.” Always interested in music Guy was delighted that Hiro agreed to teach him how to play guitar and their ensuing friendship would last for many years.

Surprisingly, despite his extremely active sex-life as an adolescent, Guy did not have a real girlfriend until he was 16. The girl (we’ll call her Sally) was two years older than Guy and dating a friend of his. Sally broke up with her boyfriend shortly after and started dating Guy. He attests that Sally was “My first Love.” After dating for a short time, Sally had to leave because she had enlisted in the army, however she did not complete basic training, being dishonorably discharged after just six-months. Guy suspects that as she immediately came to find him, Sally who was Italian instigated her discharge from the army by losing her temper with her drill sergeant.

Guy and Sally were dating for about a year when a totally unforeseen event changed his and Sally’s life. Both were regularly smoking pot and drinking, but when Guy was 17 he decided to try Mescaline (MDA) and he and Sally went on a three-day binge. Guy relates his horror at the consequence of the binge. “We were sitting in a local Denny’s across from one another and suddenly this vacant look entered Sally’s eyes and she began talking to herself in a manic way. She then ran outside and started waving her arms around wildly talking to God. I tried taking hold to her, but she looked me straight in the eyes and called me ‘Old Blue’.” The name did not have any relevance until much, much later, but Guy says “from that day at Denny’s Sally would consistently call me Old Blue.” Later Guy learned that Sally had developed schizophrenia and needed constant medication to keep her balanced.

Because of his shenanigans at school, Guy did not graduate. Luckily, his father had a construction business and Guy went to work as a laborer for him. At the time he left school Guy was still living at home, but a few months later despite Sally’s illness he moved into an apartment with her. However, not long after Guy moved in with Sally he had to deal with her illness head on. He explains, “One day I woke up and there was blood everywhere all over the bathroom, but no Sally to be found. Later that day my brother came over and told me that they just got a call from the hospital to inform them that Sally had a miscarriage.”

His life with Sally was a roller-coaster of highs and lows for Guy. When she took her medication they were like any normal couple, but these periods were short-lived. Eventually Sally would stop taking her medication causing a psychotic break and force Guy to have her admitted to the mental hospital for a few weeks until she would get herself released. Guy relates “Sally became an expert at fooling the doctors. Her psychosis would come and go almost like she could hide it and this is how she fooled the doctors into letting her go every time.”

Although devastated by the sequence of events, Guy remained by Sally’s side hoping against hope that she would recover. But unfortunately Guy would watch her swinging from sanity to insanity as she went in and out of mental hospitals. This took its toll on their relationship and eventually it ended and Sally went back to Missouri. Unable to afford the apartment and reluctant to go home to his parents at the age of 22 Guy found himself homeless. He says he slept in basements, under stairwells or if he was lucky in an abandoned car. After about a year, Guy woke up feeling wretched. The next day when his skin erupted in spots, he realized he was really sick and went home. He had contracted chicken-pox and at home his loving mother nursed him back to health. Following his recovery Guy went to work for his father in Friday harbor. This move resulted in a complete change of direction for Guy because it was where he met his future wife, (We’ll call her Mindy) a divorcee with a two-year old daughter.

Meeting Mindy was exactly what Guy needed to take hold of his life. He relates “I was very thankful for Mindy for giving me purpose in my life even though I was a ragging alcoholic; she still saw potential in me.” Within a couple of months of meeting Mindy she was pregnant and a month later they moved in together in Friday Harbor. In June of 1989 the couple was blessed with a healthy baby girl and sister for Mindy’s daughter. When Mindy became pregnant shortly after, the couple decided it was time to get married and they tied the knot January 20th 1990. They also moved into a small house in West Seattle.

Becoming a husband and father did not temper Guy’s drinking and a short time after the birth of his son in August of 1990, he left with the family car on a three-day bender. His wife with no idea where he was, reported him missing to the police. Guy shamefully confesses “I woke up three days later from a drug and alcohol fog and looked around me. I was in a room with four strangers with absolutely no clue as to how I got there. Panicked at how low I had sunk, I left immediately. In the car a song by Phil Collins came on the radio and I found myself balling like a baby. The song was “I Wish it would Rain Down” and it seemed like the words were meant as a message for me as it was pouring with rain. It was then that I decided I had to go home and take a hold of my life. That day I went into rehab and remained clean and sober for more than a decade.”

As is the normal protocol in completing rehab, Guy left Seattle and moved his family to Auburn. This seemed to be a turning point for Guy and he settled down to married life, supporting his family by working as a laborer for his father. His alcoholism had caused him to gain a lot of weight and he embarked on a rigorous exercise routine, going to the gym everyday to get fit. His love of music had only grown over the years and Guy states that “even when I was at my worst I was always strumming my guitar composing songs. The following year in 1991 my brother taught himself how to play the drums so we could jam together and we did so with great enthusiasm.”

Guy had found his calling and he and his brother continued to improve, with a neighbor joining their jamming sessions. Guy relates “I wrote all original music and I had a library of music that was quite extensive. After a few years of playing together we found a singer and we started a real band.” A bass guitarist joined the band in 1994 and the band became Mr. Nobody. A mere three years later in 1997 Mr. Nobody was good enough to start playing professionally and began to accept engagements at local clubs and bars.

It seemed that Guy’s life was set; he was happily married with three children and was living his dream composing music, writing lyrics, and even supplementing his income as a laborer with Mr. Nobody’s engagements. However, Guy’s life was preordained and in 1998 Linda 2 entered his life. Unlike Linda 1, Linda 2’s connection was extremely short. Guy met the second Linda at an outdoor party, when their eyes met across the park. This woman appeared to be staring at him and slightly intrigued he crossed the distance between them to her side. Although their conversation was light, Guy felt a strong undercurrent of sexual tension between them. After a while of apparently light banter they parted exchanging phone numbers.

Guy did not expect to hear from her but was not surprised when a little while later Linda called him and invited him to visit her. Alerted to the sexual undertones between them and unwilling to engage in an extramarital affair, Guy hedged “Do you think that’s a good idea? You know what you want.” Linda denied wanting an affair and told Guy that they would have some harmless fun.

Later that month Guy was in Linda’s town without his family and knocked on her door. She opened the door and smiled seductively at him. Within minutes, Guy’s resolve collapsed and he followed Linda to the bedroom. After two days Guy left Linda’s home never to see her again.

The encounter with the second Linda on the face of it did not seem to affect Guy that much and he returned to his life as a happily married father of three. However, deep down within his heart something had changed and his life would never be the same. This was because the sexual encounter caused an energetic shift in his core.

The question that begs to be answered is why a sexual encounter with another woman would cause an energetic shift in Guy. Obviously, he was intimate with his wife Mindy, so why didn’t making love with his wife, change him? The key words are “making love.”  Daphna Moore in her brilliant The Rabbi’s Tarot relates:

“In order to wear the Crown at the end of the path we must get a clear perception that all our personal activities are merely the particular concrete expression in us of the interplay of Cosmic Forces and of the operation of eternal laws. These Cosmic Forces and eternal Laws are ours to manipulate one way or the other, but through us they must continually play. Let us take an illustration. When we call our base instincts (the instincts of the animal), they rise to the consciousness of the Solar Plexus. …There is no difference between an animal desire and a high aspiration except the precise way it is expressed in the personal consciousness. The energy is the same. This fact cannot be too clearly appreciated—it is the same Cosmic Force playing through us.

What, occultly speaking, are aspirations? Merely recollections, which we long to repeat, of thoughts we once experienced before we descended into matter. Such recollections are recorded, along with everything else that ever happened, in the Solar Plexus. Here, too, are recorded all our desires when we were merely in the animal state. We call that desire a low desire now, but it was all right when we were animals, and it was our means of growth then, and now we have another means of growth. If we gratify that low desire, it becomes our means of retrogression, of going back into the animal kingdom mentally. This is one of the most-used Bible words for “sin”—transgression, which means “going across a boundary.” What boundary? The boundary of the animal kingdom, or the boundary of the regions that pertain to you as man. We must not gratify that Cosmic urge on the animal spiral of low desire, but on the human spiral of aspiration.”

In other words, sex without love lowers the vibration and the person for want of a better word becomes more earthly or denser. Guy deeply loved his wife Mindy and sexual relations with her did not lower his vibration. However, his sexual experience with both Linda 1 and his illicit tryst with Linda 2 stimulated his lower animal nature and in the second case incited him to gratify his lower desire.

In 1998 when Guy met the second Linda, he was moving closer and closer to his preordained destiny. That destiny however at the time was not being directed from the Divine Realm. It is important to remember that at this point in the story the “Shadow” and “his” Watcher/alien supporters were still dedicated to stopping the Human Race from spiritually evolving to the next level. As we shall see in the following pages there was a tremendous battle going on for which force gained supremacy in Guy. After his encounter with the second Linda the lower nature was winning, but there is an amazing twist to his story, which will become apparent as we proceed.

Looking back on the course of his life, Guy is immensely grateful for the role his wife and children played in his life. Although Mindy may be completely unaware she was instrumental in helping Guy find his way back to God; albeit a circuitous route. Guy knows without a shadow of a doubt that without her loving support he would never have had the strength to turn his back on drugs and alcohol. Nonetheless, in 1998 Guy was still operating essentially blindly; putting the disturbing incidence with the second Linda aside he again tried to settle down as a family man and focus on nurturing his growing success with Mr. Nobody.

III.  Shaping the Pot (The Beginning)

By the end of 2000 Guy’s band Mr. Nobody was becoming established and they were playing most weekends and often had engagements after work. Consequently, nearly all of Guy’s spare time was taken up with composing and promoting the band. He relates how he saw his life the year before it turned upside down. “I had been with Mindy for around 13 years and we had three great kids. Life was good and I was happy, which makes what happened the next year all the more bizarre.”

The next year Guy could no longer work for his father because he had closed his construction company. Fortunately his dear friend (We’ll call her Sarah) told him of an opening in the contracting firm she worked for. As a result in the spring of 2001 Guy was working on a construction site in Seattle. He recalls it was an unusually hot day for the time of year. Intent on his work he had looked up to see his colleagues staring up at an apartment building next to the site. He explains, “As I look up to see what the fuss was about I saw two girls on top of the building sunbathing.” Guy adds that the girls were “naked of course.” Naturally every man on the construction site was ogling them and the girls obviously were aware of this because they were watching the men ogling them through binoculars.

Not surprisingly, Guy’s and all the men’s gaze were focused on the girl’s upper torso, which he explains was all he could see because “They were so high up.” He observed that one of the girls was “small-chested while the other was large-chested.” The “small-chested” girl caught Guy’s eye because she was observing him “intently with the binoculars. I thought she was cute, but very different from girls I was usually attracted to. The most striking thing I noticed about her was the beautiful infectious smile and I found myself smiling. I did think her staring at me through binoculars a bit strange, but I never dreamt where it would lead.”

The following day, the nude sun-bathers were the talk of the construction site, but although one of the girls appeared on her third-floor balcony she was covered. Over the next week the two girls would occasionally sunbathe in the nude, but it was the interaction between the smaller girl and Guy that began to take precedence in the topic of conversation at the site. Early each morning when Guy arrived on the site the girl would be outside on her balcony smoking. He observes “it was almost as if she was waiting for me to arrive. I would wave to her and she would wave back to me from a distance. I knew she was flirting with me and I with her but it seemed harmless because we weren’t speaking to each other just waving from a distance and it became a bit of a game.”

One day however, about a fortnight later, it seems that flirting with Guy from a distance was not exciting enough and the girl upped the ante. This day Guy relates “she was on the roof with her friend again and all the guys had gathered to watch. Then she held up a sign directed at me that had one word in large bold letters ‘DINNER?’ I was standing right next to my boss at the time and he said, ‘I think she wants to have dinner with you. As if to confirm my boss’ assessment she held up another sign with a phone number. Without hesitation my boss called the number and handed me the phone.”

During the brief telephone conversation, Guy ascertained the girl’s name (We’ll call her Meaghan) and that she was 25 years-old. He also learned her friend’s name (We’ll call her Belinda) and that she was only 22 years old. Evidently she did not think Guy being 12 years her senior was a problem and invited him to her apartment to have lunch with Belinda and her in the near future. They continued chatting casually and decided on a day and time for the lunch-date. Guy confesses that he was “afraid to go” alone and asked one of his co-workers who was also a friend (We’ll call him Tony) to accompany him. He recollects that he was not sure why he agreed to have lunch with Meaghan and surmises he was “smitten with her.” Flirting with Meaghan from the safety of distance for a fortnight had made her into some kind-of safe fantasy. Now he was faced with the reality and Guy felt compelled to compare his fantasy of Meaghan will the real woman. Taking his friend Tony was meant to safeguard from any kind-of intimacy and so he hung up the phone and returned to his work.

Knocking on the door of Meaghan’s apartment Guy and Tony were greeted by a heavily tattooed woman. Following her into the living room Meaghan told her visitors that she was the manager for the apartment building and introduced Belinda as a nurse that lived in the building. As Meaghan was a vegetarian she had made vegetarian spaghetti, which she had placed in the middle of the table for everyone to help themselves. Although Guy was not that keen on the dish and politely waited for others, his friend Tony wasted no time in filling his plate.

One of the reasons he had asked Tony to accompany him on the lunch-date was because Guy did not find it easy to talk to women in a social situation. As Guy quietly observed Meaghan, as expected Tony engaged in easy conversation. Meaghan intrigued Guy and he surreptitiously studied her tattoos.

Meaghan’s most prominent tattoo was that of a spider on a web going up the entire length of her forearm. (He later learned that the spider was the radio-active spider from the comic book Spiderman that caused Spiderman to get his super powers after it bit him.) The spider tattoo started from her fingers, with the legs of the spider and the main body situated on top of her hand. The spider’s hind legs wrapped around her wrist and a web extended all the way to her elbow. Guy says it was quite a sight. She also had a tattoo of a piranha fish on her shoulder, a scorpion on her thigh, a butterfly across her entire chest, and a gecko on her ankle.

Guy was enthralled with Meaghan because like him she loved music and could play both the piano and the flute. Although it did not happen immediately from that day Guy’s marriage to Mindy for all intents and purposes was over. The reason was unbeknownst to all three of them; there were unseen forces moving their lives. Without their knowledge or volition they were fast becoming helpless pawns in an unknown agenda. Of course, at the time Guy saw his attraction and near obsession with Meaghan as a purely natural occurrence.

Guy pinpoints the demise of his marriage to the time he first kissed Meaghan. “I had never felt emotion like that with anyone in my entire life.” Unaware of it at the time, he later realized this “kiss” was a kind-of spell that bound him to Meaghan. Looking back he is absolutely certain that nothing of this earth could have caused him to throw everything he had, away. Sadly he laments “Mindy who was my whole life at the time did not stand a chance against the forces driving me then. It was not that Meaghan was better than Mindy, but that she was of the right energy they needed. I know that sounds crazy, but I felt helpless to resist her.”

In a deeply anguished voice Guy told me of his struggle the summer and early fall of 2001. After he told his wife about Meaghan that September, his wife’s deep pain at his betrayal caused him to try to stay married. He says that he felt there “was a battle” going on not just between the two women, but also within him. “It was difficult for me to think straight at that time. The emotion I felt from Meaghan was so powerful I could not resist her and yet to watch Mindy’s suffering at my hands still haunts me to this very day.”

During this time Guy was trying to keep both women happy and to put it bluntly he was an emotional wreck. The tragedy was that because of his confusion and despair Guy eventually began taking drugs. However, the first tangible evidence of the unseen forces working in his life gave Guy a hint that there were forces steering him in a certain direction. This significant event came while he was dividing his time between Mindy and Meaghan.

One day Guy had just returned from Mindy’s home to Meaghan and noticed she appeared to be pensive. Asking her what was wrong; Meaghan surprised him by directly asking if he was being faithful to her. Meaghan’s question surprised him because she had never displayed jealousy before. She knew that he still loved Mindy and was visiting his family on a regular basis, but this visit had been different because Guy and Mindy had shared a deeply tender moment with each other. Realizing that Meaghan had somehow tapped into his connection to Mindy and feeling that to discuss his visit would somehow be a betrayal to Mindy, Guy avoided Meaghan’s eyes and said “yes.” Guy continues, “As I spoke the word ‘yes’ the blood rushed out of my head and I became light-headed. Almost simultaneously we heard a huge crash in the Living Room. Running out of the Bedroom into the Living Room we noticed that the balcony’s glass sliding door had shattered. The amazing thing is that the door was double-glazed and it was the inside pane that had shattered. There was nothing remotely near the window that could have broken the glass from the inside.”

The incident unnerved Guy and he felt it was no coincidence that at the moment he “lied” to Meaghan a solid glass pane had shattered. This strange happening was the first inclination to Guy that there was something odd about both Meaghan and her house. He began to suspect that Meaghan had someone or something watching over her and this made him uneasy. As stated, this was only the beginning of strange incidences centered on Meaghan and several times throughout their relationship Guy would ask only half joking whether she had cast a spell on him. He had wondered if she was a witch but when he asked her she always just laughed and skirted around the question. Despite his reservations about Meaghan in 2001 he was “so taken by her” that all reason left him and so began his journey through the Twilight Zone.

Just a Necklace or Blood Magic?

In reviewing the incident with the broken glass, Guy remembered that early on in their relationship Meaghan had persuaded him to make strange matching necklaces containing their blood. He explains, “During the first few months of our relationship in 2001 Meaghan and I were inseparable. She had made me a necklace before of blue and white beads, but now she wanted to make us necklaces containing our blood.”

As Belinda was a nurse she knew how to draw blood so Meaghan asked her to draw their blood. The blood was placed in a small glass container or vial. To ensure it remained uncontaminated and remained pure, Belinda had obtained an anticoagulant to add to the vials. After placing the blood in the vials they were sealed shut protected from the elements.

Almost ceremonially, when the necklaces were completed Guy and Meaghan placed each others blood around their necks. Guy relates that “Meaghan had got the idea from learning that Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton had done the same thing and she thought it was a great idea. I never really gave it a second thought because I was so blinded by my emotions for her. But now I think about it I realize that there was a deeper purpose behind that particular action; especially now I know that the blood energetically carries the life-force. I have to wonder if exchanging each other’s blood could be considered blood Magic.”

Despite the apparent sacred nature of exchanging each other’s blood Guy and Meaghan only wore the necklaces for a few months. A short while after not wearing them, Guy explains that “one of the containers that housed the blood was compromised and the blood coagulated. I don’t remember if it was mine or hers that broke anyhow the blood in the Necklace was ruined.” Nonetheless, it did not seem to bother either Guy or Meaghan because Guy says they soon forgot about the necklaces and went on with their growing relationship. From the perspective of Guy’s preparation although one of the necklaces was compromised it did not matter, because the necklaces had served their purpose as was evident in the breaking of the glass a few months later.

By January 2002, Guy was trying desperately to make sense of his life. Deep down inside his heart, he knew that his relationship with Meaghan was toxic. Nonetheless he was still obsessed with her. To numb his guilt at his betrayal of Mindy he began taking pain pills to forget. He was still holding down a job on a construction site, but he confesses “I was barely holding myself together from the devastation I had caused.” One point of light in Guy’s life was his music and at the start of 2002 he was still performing with his band Mr. Nobody.

As with all construction jobs they only last until the completion of the contract. After his contract with his employer ended in early 2002 his dear friend Sarah again came through recommending him for a job in Tacoma. When this one ended he had a short respite before Sarah again found him another job also in Tacoma, only this one was a long-term contract and would last for most of 2002. Working in Tacoma Guy decided to look for accommodations near his work and signed a 6-month lease on a small house. As this was also near his family, Guy’s children were able to visit him regularly.

Being close to his family, Guy’s relationship with his wife strengthened and they began seeing each other. Unfortunately Guy was still attached to Meaghan and shortly after he moved in she began visiting him at his home in Tacoma. Sighing deeply, Guy relates that seeing both women caused him to fall “deeper into darkness.” Feeling torn in two, but unable to break free Guy turned to drugs. This time his drug of choice was cocaine. “I remember this being the first real turning point into abusing illegal drugs to forget what I had done and the pain I had caused.” Up until then Guy had only succumbed to smoking a little marijuana with Meagan. “I resisted drinking or taking what I call illegal drugs, I didn’t consider weed a hard drug, until 2002 in Tacoma, but things went from bad to worse at the end of 2002.”

IV.  Arrival of Key Players

Because he was back living in Seattle with Meaghan and taking hard drugs, the shaping of Guy was ready for the next phase. His energy had never been lower and he had lost all self respect. But the next phase needed different players. The main reason Guy had fallen so far was because a key player had arrived on the scene in 2002. This player was the third Linda and would prove to be the most influential of all three Lindas.

Reconnecting with Linda 3

You may have noticed this sub-section is entitled “reconnecting with Linda 3”; this is because Guy had known her since childhood. She came into his life again through his sister (we’ll call her Lesley) who was estranged from most of the family and only his mother still saw her. Guy had serious issues with his sister mainly because of the people she surrounded herself with. He explains, “My sister lived in a world of the night, partying most nights. She mainly gravitated to the gay population of Seattle. Although I don’t think she was gay herself all her friends were homosexuals or lesbians.” However, he stresses that these individuals were not like our gay friends who were committed to finding love, just with the same-sex. The people Lesley was associating with were men and women seeking pleasure through multiple sex-partners and drugs. “None of them appeared to be in a committed relationship and their behavior unnerved me.” What Guy did not know at the time was these “gay individuals” were not what they appeared to be. As will be shown later their covers as ordinary members of the Gay community could not have been more false.

Guy’s mother only lived a few miles from Meaghan and so when he stayed with Meaghan he would often visit his family. One day in 2002 his mom had Guy accompany her to meet his sister. Arriving at the rendezvous, Guy observed that Lesley was not alone. Standing with her was Linda 3, who Guy “hadn’t seen for a long time.” He relates his apprehension at seeing them together as a warning. “These two girls together could only add up to one thing, trouble.”

In spite of the inner warning to stay away from this third Linda, Guy ignored it and when she asked him to help remodel the house in Seattle that she moved into in 2003, he agreed. The house was just three miles from Meaghan’s and Guy said, “The house was built in 1903 and the first time I went there I noticed a little pink stone over the doorway. For some reason I felt compelled to remove it from the house and give it to Meaghan as a gift. After learning that it was a piece of Rose Quartz used for protection I thought perhaps I should put it back, but again for some reason I didn’t.”

The house was really old and needed to pass certain housing codes before anyone could live in it. This was how Guy became embroiled in the house in Seattle where so many of the strangest episodes occurred. Along with Linda’s two children, a few of her gay friends stayed at the house from time to time. These men would often be joined by Guy’s sister Lesley’s gay friends. It was these men that unnerved Guy the most and as we proceed I think the reason will become obvious.

Guy relates that in the summer of 2003 he found being in the house disturbing, because of the relationship between Linda and his sister. “I started to notice a pattern of dominance between my sister and Linda.” Guy told me that Lesley was a mystery to him. He felt that there was something possessing and controlling her, which caused him anguish. These feelings were not new and had originated from a teenager childhood. Even though Guy sensed that something was controlling his sister, she did not engender fear in him. Unfortunately he could not say the same for Linda.

Guy confided that “Very early on Linda learned that her looks could get her whatever she wanted. Unsurprisingly as she got older she became a master at manipulation and cunning. Her parents and friends may well have been aware of her manipulation, but no one called her on it; in fact I think most people thought she was charming. However, when I ran into her again in 2003 Linda was a different person and I sensed that she was connected to something really dangerous. In light of what happened I feel my apprehension was warranted; especially when Ray and his pack turned up.”

Having introduced the players involved in the events that would transpire in the third Linda’s house, we will leave them and return to the previous year when Guy’s contract was coming to an end in Tacoma at the end of 2002. Without a steady income Guy could no longer afford the Tacoma house payments and was forced to move back in with Meaghan. This was a very dark time for Guy and he began spirally down into a dark pit of addictive drugs. “It was at this time that I started using Meth with Meaghan. I can remember the Meth instantly intensified the sexual desire to pure sensation like I had never known.” Guy explains that this use of Meth is a common practice and that “everyone I know that has stopped using Meth said that they did things they normally would not do.”

The Neighbors

The following year in 2003 Guy and Meaghan got new neighbors. As the manager of the apartment building, Meaghan was involved in leasing apartments. The new tenants (We’ll call them Mike and Lilly) moved into the apartment right below Meaghan and Guy whose apartment was on the top floor on a corner. Guy met Mike and Lilly at a barbecue held by one of the tenants who invited everyone in the building. Describing the couple he says, “Mike was stocky and short and appeared stern. He was also out-spoken. Lilly was the exact opposite to her husband. She was quiet and a little timid, but she was also sweet and gentle.” At the barbeque Mike struck up a conversation with Guy. Seemingly intelligent, Mike told his neighbor that he was widely travelled and regaled Guy with tales of the many sites he had visited.

Fascinated with Mike’s interesting reminiscences Guy was surprised when Mike changed the subject. Suddenly Mike announced that he knew Christopher Columbus and that he had spent time with him. Guy stunned into silence sat quietly listening to Mike relate his adventures with Columbus. Not sure of what to make of Mike’s revelations, Guy kept the conversation to himself choosing to not share it with Meaghan. Over the following months Guy became aware that Lilly had developed a “small crush” on him and would bring him cookies and other gifts. He observes that Meaghan appeared to not notice her neighbor’s crush on her boyfriend or as Guy says, “At least she did not mention it to me.”

From all the depravity occurring in Guy’s life during 2001 and 2002, not to mention his re-connection with the third Linda and his strange neighbors, one would surmise that he was firmly in the grip of the negative forces or the “Shadow of Deception.” However, something happened in the first half of 2003 that gave Guy hope that God may not have completely deserted him.

Promise on the Freeway

Although Guy was using drugs on a regular basis he was still able to function and work as a laborer. January of 2003 while on his way to pick up his sister Lesley and Linda to get a supply of Meth for the weekend, he experienced Divine intervention. Guy explains, “It was a Friday after work and I was crossing the Spokane Street Bridge on I-5 when suddenly the brakes in my car failed and I swerved into another car. The driver of the car I had side-swiped was a mother with her child in the back seat and I had forced her car into the barrier along with mine. It was rush hour and I couldn’t get out of my car because the door was crushed against the barrier. Everything was so surreal I sat in amazement and horror for a moment and prayed that no one was hurt. Putting my hands up to my face I pleaded to God to help me and promised that I would do anything He asked. Then I crawled out my window and went to see if the lady was okay. Thank goodness she and her little girl were unhurt. I was so afraid for what I had done. The fact that I was going to get drugs made it even more difficult to deal with; I felt so ashamed.”

Guy explains that while standing by the cars a police officer arrived to assess the accident. Suddenly the situation hit him. “I realized that I didn’t have any insurance and would probably be arrested for a DWI.” As Guy braced for the officer to ask for his registration and insurance, the officer inquired if everyone was okay and both he and the other driver said yes. At that moment a tow-truck pulled alongside Guy’s disabled car. Approaching the tow-truck driver the officer instructed him to tow Guy’s car off the freeway and clear the road.

The woman driver was understandably angry at Guy placing her and her child in danger and asked the officer in disbelief “aren’t you going to give him a ticket he hit me?” Amazingly, the patrol officer stunned Guy by replying that as the damage to the cars was less than $2,000 it was up to the individual parties to sort it out. Turning away the officer added that he just needed them to get off the freeway. Struggling to believe his luck, Guy watched as the tow-truck driver hooked his car up and motioned to Guy to climb in beside him. After the tow-truck driver dropped him off a few miles away, Guy fixed his car and completely forgetting his promise to God continued with his plans as if nothing had happened.

With hind-sight Guy shamefully says, “I really was a class act then. Here I had been given help in not getting in trouble for the accident and what did I do; fall right back into the pit again.” I asked Guy if he thought God had helped him get out of a ticket. He thought for a moment and said, “No. I think it was the forces messing with me, because they wanted me back in Seattle and had I been arrested, I would have called Mindy for help and she would probably have gotten me out of there.”

Irrespective of who had helped Guy in his accident, by the end of 2003 Guy was in a very sorry state. He had left Mr. Nobody and soon after the band disbanded. In addition he was out of work and forced back to Seattle. Looking anguished, Guy relates, “This time was the beginning of the end. I was doing Meth with the girl I left my wife for, I was out of work plus I was spending time with Linda and her strange and mysterious group of friends. Moreover, my sister Lesley was in and out of the picture being just as weird and mysterious.” Looking away as if the memory was too painful, Guy confides “I felt like I was sinking into oblivion.”

As stated, in early 2003 Guy had begun using Meth on a regular basis. In the late winter of 2004 after smoking Meth with Meaghan he woke in a fog from a deep sleep. As his mind struggled to remember where he was, a slight discomfort behind his right knee brought his attention to his right leg. Twisting around to examine the area he discovered an obvious needle mark and tried to remember how it got there. Finding Meaghan, Guy asked her if she had injected him, but she emphatically denied any knowledge of it. Guy recalls, “It was a mystery and although I believed Meaghan had not injected me it unnerved me to not know how I was injected, because the one thing I never did was shoot up. The position of the injection site made it impossible for me to have injected my self.” What Guy did not know at the time was that the mysterious injection would be only the first of multiple strange events that would intensify after his 40th birthday.

V.  Entering the Twilight Zone

Essentially Guy’s preparation occurred in three locations with the main one being Meaghan’s apartment in Seattle. However some of the most bizarre and terrifying experiences occurred in another house in Seattle about 3 miles away that belonged to the third Linda. Guy believed the house was haunted, because of unexplainable events. The first happened when he was helping to remodel the house in the summer of 2003 while staying at the house.

Haunted House or Something Else

Guy had never really considered if he believed in ghosts or not but early one summer morning in 2003 he was forced to confront the question. That morning alone in Linda’s house, Guy was resting in bed contemplating the day’s work ahead. The bedroom door was open and he was enjoying the solitude. The sound of someone snapping their fingers startled him out of his contemplation. The snapping, coming from the Living room was so loud that Guy thought someone was in the house. Listening for tell-tale sounds of movement, he waited to identify who was in the house. He knew Linda was at work and her children were in school so he wondered who had been making the noise. Realizing that there was no one in the house Guy lay back down again. “Snap!!!” Guy sat bolt upright in bed and strained to listen for the source, which was much louder than the first time. He describes it sounding “like someone threw a small rock somewhere in the house against the wall.” When it happened again Guy defiantly says, “do it again.” Obligingly, he hears “Snap!!!!” and repeats the challenge and again receives a loud “Snap!!!!!” Guy recalls his mind was struggling with what was happening and he said to himself “No way! Someone must be playing a trick on me. Yet somehow I knew that wasn’t true.” Getting out of bed, Guy systematically searches the house for the “intruder.” Finding nothing, he again challenges whatever is making the snapping sound to repeat it and again he is obliged with a loud “Snap!!!!!”

Pacing the house Guy is reminded of the mysterious shattering of the glass at Meaghan’s home and thinks “Great whatever was at Meaghan’s apartment is now at Linda’s house.” He remembers being surprised that he was not afraid and reasons that “maybe it was because it was a summer’s day.” After work Guy decided to check the attic. He’s not sure why, but he thought that “maybe there was a secret door that somebody was using to sneak in.” He had noticed that “the house had an entry into the attic through one of the kid’s closet. It was really small and I could barely fit. I wanted to see if there was someone hiding in there trying to scare me. I am afraid of spiders so I dressed head to toe with gloves on and a hat to protect my head; I also carried a hammer in case someone wanted to scare me when I got up there.” Unsure of what he would find, but determined to get to the bottom of the mysterious snapping, Guy peered into the attic. He remembers, “The first thing that caught my attention was how deafeningly quite it was.” Although unnerved by the quiet Guy eventually searched the entire attic area but found nothing.” Curiously, he never heard the snapping again after that incident.

Turning Forty

In 2004 Guy was turning 40 and he remembers how a few days before his birthday he felt the urge to call his older brother. When he picked up the phone to call him, Guy was sitting next to Meaghan in her bedroom. “I felt really happy for the first time in quite a while.” He admits to feeling that this birthday was different and he wanted his brother’s opinion on something. “I asked him if when he turned forty his life had changed. He answered with a simple no and asked why I had asked. I told him that I felt like my life was about to change but I wasn’t sure how, yet I was certain something significant was going to happen.”

Guy is not a hundred per cent sure, but within a day or two after he turned forty he and Meaghan woke up and noticed that both had a small patch of oil smeared on their temples. He explains, “It was as if someone or something had taken oil and marked our temples on either side of both of our eyes.” Both Guy and Meaghan were deeply disturbed by incident and completely dumbfounded as to how the oil had gotten on their temples. Things became even stranger when the couple tried to remove the oil. “We tried to wipe it off but nothing we did, removed the mark. It eventually disappeared over time, but from that moment on I was more convinced than ever that there was something in the house we could not see.”

As disturbing as the strange “anointing” had been, Guy found the change in Meaghan the most worrisome. Meaghan’s demeanor had drastically changed and she seemed almost panicked by what had happened. Without explaining to Guy, she started putting up mirrors all around the house. She placed them over and in front of everything, ensuring that all the doorways and every window in the house had a mirror pointing outward. Meaghan also placed a mirror in front of all the mirrors in the house; over the sink the toilet everywhere.” Perplexed at Meaghan’s behavior, Guy asked her why she was placing mirrors every where. Meaghan replied, “For protection” to which he then asked what on earth she needed protection from? Almost apologetically, she whispered “I don’t know.”

Guy observes, “Obviously she was frightened as I was. The feeling in the room had gotten thick and dense.” The strange incident, instead of bringing Guy and Meaghan together to comfort one another, drove them apart. Guy pinpoints this moment to when he first realized that something very strange was connected to Meaghan, which in turn caused him to start questioning his decision to be with her.

This was also the time that Guy again appealed to God for help. He relates that apart from his plea on the freeway, “I hadn’t thought about God for many years but if there ever was a time I needed some comfort I needed it now from God.” It is interesting for Guy to review this time, because he says it was the moment that he and Meaghan became strangers living in the same house. He explains, “Meaghan appeared to be going in another direction from me and we lost one another.”

Guy equates the change in his relationship with Meaghan to the “unsettling feeling that something was taking over the space and separating us; at least it did to me.” Unable to talk to Meaghan about his feelings that something was coming between them, the gulf between them widened. To Guy it was undeniable and he could not understand Meaghan’s refusal to address what was happening with them. He says, “From that moment we drifted apart and Meaghan became a stranger to me.” This was a turning point in Guy’s relationship with Meaghan and he began to look at her with new eyes and she “became just as mysterious as my sister and the third Linda.”

Like so many times in his life Guy turned to the one person who always told him the truth, his ex-wife Mindy. Calling Mindy, Guy related the troubling events happening to him. As expected sharing his distress and concerns with her comforted him. With hind-sight he realizes that Mindy could not understand, but he is eternally grateful for her willingness to put her hurt aside and listen to her lost ex-husband.

After talking with Mindy, Guy found the strength to slow down his use of drugs and re-evaluate his situation, or as he likes to call it “check my sanity.” When I asked Guy how he had held it together while taking drugs, he told me “Fortunately for me I always had a sound mind. This was evident because I was always able to work.” He explains that “I knew what was happening was not due to the drugs, but was caused by something more powerful. I needed a clear head to honestly look at the situation and that was impossible using drugs. I had to be absolutely certain that what was happening was real.”

Eventually as the frequency of strange incidents increased Guy would be led away from Meaghan and Seattle. Unfortunately in the spring of 2004 that was the least important thing on his mind, because the Twilight Zone part of the story was about to become so bizarre that Guy wondered if he would survive it. Over the summer and into the fall he would be confronted by beings that would test his mental capacity to handle supernatural situations. Although his eyes had been opened to Meaghan, unbeknownst to Guy, he was still under the power of the third Linda and over the next few months the location for his preparation to be the interface shifted from Meaghan’s apartment to Linda’s house.

The most significant change for Guy after his estrangement from Meaghan was his reconnection with his faith. He reveals “My desire to find out what was happening was leading me towards God more and more. I acquired a little orange bible and I started carrying it everywhere and reading passages from it every chance I could.” Guy credits his turning to God at this time as the reason he got a handle on his drug abuse.

Left Alone?

Despite Guy’s cooling towards Meaghan after the strange “anointing” with oil he still cared about her. But as they drifted further apart Guy began dividing his time between Meaghan and Linda’s homes. Because the awkwardness between her and Guy, Meaghan decided she needed a change too. Coming to the same conclusion as Guy that while in a Meth drug haze she would not be able to get a handle on her life, Meaghan decided she needed to go home to Utah and her parents and get clean. Guy reveals, “Earlier, before I met her she had gone home to get clean. That time it was for heroin. Now she seemed a very different person than I remembered a few weeks before the “anointing.” But I still had deep feelings for her; although I was unclear as to what those feelings were based on, love or fear.”

Because Guy still cared for Meaghan, just before she left for Utah he bought her a gift as a kind-of peacemaker. He was in a florist shop when he spotted a statue of a bust of a woman that looked exactly like Meaghan. “There was no doubt about it; it was a replica of her. There were two of them, green and bronze.” When Guy gave Meaghan the green replica of her she was not exactly delighted with the gift. Whether it was transference or not, after Meaghan left for Utah the statue haunted him and Guy began to see the statue as possessed. “I was terrified of it and wanted it gone. I felt compelled to get rid of whatever I had brought into the apartment in the statue and so I took a hammer and smashed it to bits.”

Although, Guy had the apartment to himself while Meaghan was in Utah he did not stay there for long. He confides that “the feeling inside the apartment was almost unbearable to handle.” Meaghan asked Guy to “stay and watch over her cats while she was gone.” As her request was reasonable he agreed. However, before she left he had moved most of his things into a storage unit down stairs. His voice reflecting the emotion he was remembering Guy relates that even though he was estranged from Meaghan he didn’t want her to go. “I thought to myself that the timing was suspicious but I also knew she needed to stop doing drugs.” After Meaghan left, Guy had the strangest feeling “that she never really left the city.” Looking back with a clear mind, Guy assigns his near paranoia to the atmosphere in the apartment. “Every hair on the back of my head would stand up and I still couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was standing right next to me.”

Due to the discomfort Guy felt in Meaghan’s apartment he moved into Linda’s house and went back every day to feed the cats. He confides that even those short periods in the apartment “were difficult.” However, Guy leaving Meaghan’s apartment for Linda’s house was like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. He explains, “It almost seemed like Linda was passive aggressively trying to control my actions. My senses were on overdrive and I was suddenly aware of details that normally I wouldn’t pay any attention to. As I look back at this now I feel like Meaghan’s ‘leaving’ set up the stage for Linda to have total access to me.” Nonetheless, before the scene shifted to Linda’s house, Guy would have a truly baffling experience around his neighbors Mike and Lilly.

Observing the Neighbors?

One day while performing his duty of feeding Meaghan’s cats, Guy stayed in her apartment longer than he normally did. He usually liked to make sure he was out of the apartment before it got dark, but on this occasion he got distracted playing and petting the cats. Realizing it was dark outside Guy remembers, “I couldn’t get out of the house fast enough, but by the time I left it was just after dusk. As I left Meaghan’s apartment I was walking down to the end of the hall and had stopped just before a set of stairs that were detached from the building. From that vantage point I could see straight into Mike and Lilly’s bathroom.”

Guy relates he tried to avert his eyes as quickly as he could; not wanting to be a “Peeping Tom”, but the sight before his eyes was so mesmerizing that he could not look away. He explains, “The window to the bathroom was maybe five feet away from me just below my feet and my view inside was as clear as day. There were no curtains or blinds covering the window so my view was completely unobstructed.” As I looked at Guy, I could see that he was reliving the moment in his mind and it still troubled him. “I’ll never forget this as long as I live. Lying in a bath filled with clear water was a woman.”

As it was Lilly and Mike’s bathroom, Guy assumed the woman in the bathtub was Lilly. Mike was standing next to the bath fully dressed. Pausing, Guy continues “This was no human woman, she was blue!” Unable to look away, Guy studied her face above the water, which was extremely tight as if her skin, only a slightly darker blue than her submerged body, was being stretched across her cheekbones. There was no facial hair whatsoever; no eyelashes or eyebrows and her pitch dark eyes reminded me of obsidian as they glinted above the water.”

Guy was unsure as to what the blue woman’s expression was because her “lips” were no more than a tight line accentuating the lower half of her face. Scanning almost reluctantly down her body Guy saw that the rest of the submerged body was a transparent blue criss-crossed with multiple dark blue veins. He says, “It reminded me a little of the medical diagrams of the blood system. I could literally see all the major veins through her blue skin.”

When Guy had related this almost unbelievable story, I asked him how he could be sure that this was not a normal woman wearing a particularly good costume. “It crossed my mind, especially when I saw that she had no nipples and just small bumps where the breasts would be. But it was when I saw her change color in front of my eyes that I realized this was no costume.” He stresses that “her entire body was clearly visible to me as she was literally no more than 10-feet away in a well-lit room and I was standing in the dark. There is no way I could have not seen what I did.” Guy described in detail what he saw, his distress visible. “Unable to pull my gaze away, I stood rooted to the spot as Mike held out a glass of water to the blue woman. As she raised her hand from the water to take the glass her blue skin immediately turned the color of human flesh. I was in absolute shock. My mind tried to comprehend what I was seeing. Eventually I realized if I could see them then they could probably see me, and gripped by fear I pulled back and ran down the hallway towards Meaghan’s apartment.”

Stopping a little way down the hallway Guy tried to gather his thoughts. Unclear as to what to do he decided he needed to check that he had not been hallucinating. “I gathered myself together and I mustered the courage to go back and take a second look, just to make sure that what I saw was real. Creeping back very slowly I looked into Mike and Lilly’s bathroom and saw that they were both in the same position as when I had left. Suddenly and deliberately the woman (Lilly?) looked up at me and at that very instant the lights in the bathroom turned off, although Mike had not moved. I gasped and ran as fast as I could down the stairs to my truck and drove to Linda’s house.”

Open to the possibility of the existence of extraterrestrials Guy had never considered that he would ever actually encounter one. As he drove to Linda’s house he was “petrified.” Trying to make sense out of what he had just seen he came to the conclusion that all he could do was try and stay calm and figure out what was happening. Arriving at Linda’s house he confided in her and she seemed genuinely surprised about what happened.

As Meaghan’s cats still needed feeding, Guy says he forced himself to return the next day and “face my fear and face it I did.” However, his strange encounter with Meaghan’s neighbors was not over. He was in the storage room picking up some things he needed at Linda’s house when he heard footsteps coming down the hall. “The footsteps echoed because it was a concrete floor. I don’t know how, but I knew the footsteps belonged to Lilly and Mike and as the footsteps drew closer my level of terror rose. Suddenly one set of footsteps that I had identified as Mike’s stopped, but Lilly’s high-heeled tapping kept approaching me. I was frozen to the spot, unable to move and could only listen as the woman’s footsteps drew closer and closer until Lilly appeared in the doorway of the storage room and joined me. I literally could not move or speak. Lilly looked at me strangely with a semi-smile, but there was something about her eyes.”

Frozen in terror and facing Lilly, to his dismay tears began streaming down Guy’s face. The level of terror he felt for this strange woman made no sense to him as he had never felt anything remotely threatening from her or Mike for that matter; strange yes, but not dangerous. Thinking about the time with a clear mind, Guy surmises that Lilly “just wanted to let me know that it was okay.” Strangely, Lilly never said one word to Guy. He reasons “she didn’t need to. Turning her back to me she just stood there for a moment and then walked very calmly away. I fell to my knees and sobbed in relief and that was the last I saw of either of them for quite awhile; it was like they just disappeared.”

I asked Guy what he thought the incident of the woman/Lilly in the tub meant. “It was the first time that I realized the forces messing with me may not be of this earth. But at the time I was unclear as to what part the weird neighbors were playing in my life, which was fast becoming like a script out of a sci-fi movie.”

VI.  Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind

Completely terrified of Meaghan’s apartment, not to mention her neighbors, Guy spent most of his time at Linda’s house. As stated the next phase in his preparation to be the Interface had shifted to Linda’s house.

Earlier we related how Guy had observed a change in Linda and suspected she was connected to something dangerous. These suspicions were confirmed when Meaghan was away. Early one morning Guy was at Meaghan’s when Linda called. She asked him to come over to fix a flat tire. He recalls, “Because she needed to get to work I drove straight there from Meaghan’s. I’d just finished fixing the flat when she came out of the house and began talking strangely to me. None of what Linda said made any sense and I was unnerved by it. But before I could try to nail down what she was saying, she suddenly walked away leaving me scratching my head. Concerned I watched Linda as she got behind the wheel of her car, which was only maybe ten feet away from me.”

However, instead of driving off Linda just sat there clenching the steering wheel with both hands, swaying back and forth. She reminded Guy of one of those Jewish Rabbis at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem only Linda wasn’t praying; she was simultaneously crying in anguish, while at the same time laughing uncontrollably. He explains, “This was no ordinary laugh of humor, nor were her tears, tears of laughter. The really eerie thing was that while Linda was laughing she was looking at me as if it was important to hold my gaze. Unable to look away I noticed that as she swayed back and forth, both laughing manically and crying hysterically Linda appeared to also be moving in and out of phase with this reality. My mind was screaming that this is physically impossible and yet I could not deny what I was seeing. At that moment a shiver ran up my spine as I was suddenly struck with terror. But I realized that most of that terror was not for myself it was for Linda. At that very moment I knew she was trapped in her own body while something else controlled her. I also realised that there was nothing I could do and so feeling utterly helpless I turned away. A minute later I heard the car as Linda drove off.”

Perhaps because of his subconscious concern for Linda Guy would sometimes sleep in the same bed with her. It is important to state that her bed was a king-size bed and at the time there were absolutely no sexual undertones between them; or so he thought. Apart from the terrifying experience of the “anointing” and the mysterious “injection” most of the mysterious events were not physical, but that would change in the spring of 2004.

Next to Linda in her king-size bed, Guy was deep asleep when he was awoken by a deafening disturbing sound. The sound was coming from Linda. She was snoring. This was not the first time he had heard Linda snore, but she had never sounded like this. Guy describes the sound as “like an animal and it frightened me. I watched her sleep and the sound she made was unearthly. I couldn’t believe I was seriously afraid of her.” Lying in bed listening to Linda in a state of fear, Guy felt his body stirring inside. Completely without his volition he experienced an erection. Absolutely dumbfounded at his body’s reaction simply because as he says, “sex was the last thing on my mind”, Guy’s fear intensified.

When Guy described this incident to me I could sense that it had really frightened him. He told me that although he experienced a “moment of physical pleasure” it was not the prominent emotion he was feeling. He recalls that the erection disappeared almost as quickly as it had arrived, but then it happened two more times. Even today this episode still disturbs Guy and he strongly attests that “I know this sounds crazy, but it wasn’t me. Something was causing the erection, but it wasn’t me.” His graphic description of the event says it all. “Whatever this was I could feel pressure inside my body between my legs by a force giving me an erection. I thought oh my God what is this? I felt pleasure for a brief moment, but then I was struck with sheer terror as I realized that something was inside me!”

Once the “erections” had stopped, Guy reached across the bed and shook Linda’s shoulder to wake her. Surprisingly she seemed unimpressed with Guy’s experience and said very little. However, considering what happened a short while later, Guy is no longer so surprised.

A Bed of Deceit or a Sting like a Bee

Still unnerved by Meaghan’s apartment and the strange neighbors the next day Guy was pleased when Linda offered to go with him to feed the cats. He says, “Linda told me she wanted to see for herself this “blue” woman I was talking about.” Because Meaghan would not be back for another week Linda knew they would not be disturbed. At this time Guy did not know which way was up, he was so scared and confused by what was happening to him. Consequently, when Linda suggested they take Meth together he was putty in her hands. Later in a Methamphetamine fog Guy realized that he was in Meaghan’s bed with Linda. As he had often slept in Linda’s bed at first he was not alerted to the compromising situation he was in; especially as they had just been talking.

Without even realizing that he had changed his position and was now on top of Linda, Guy became aware that he was about to do something he might regret. He explains, “I’m not quite sure how this is happening and I am struggling with the idea of doing it. My mind is running and the past three years flash through my mind. The affair with Meaghan and my betrayal of Mindy and there I was getting ready to have sex in Meaghan’s own bed. I thought ‘you must be kidding’!”

Unfortunately, despite Guy’s conscience pricking him, the Meth and the woman’s body lying beneath him was arousing him and reason was fast losing out over sexual desire. Putting it as delicately as possible, when Guy moved to have sex with Linda and enters her he suddenly feels a sharp sting on his stomach. “It was very painful and I jumped off of Linda and said ‘what the hell was that’?”

The sharp pain had shocked Guy out of his drugged stupor and like a splash of cold water he knew without a shadow of a doubt he did not want to have sex with Linda. Remorsefully he told the apparently bemused woman that he could not go through with it and left the bedroom to spend the night on the couch.

When Guy related this incident to me I could see that he was deeply ashamed and that it was extraordinarily difficult for him to make this shameful episode public. But then again so many times God has required us to be completely honest about our flaws and mistakes and all we can do is trust that there is a good reason even though we may not see it. For Guy, this experience left him “even more broken than I already was. At that moment I realized I had crossed a line and I was now going to face the consequences of my action.”

In the morning Guy examined the area on his stomach to ascertain the source of the pain. The pain originated about three inches below his belly button to the right and just above his pelvic area. Examining the area he could see it had swelled up and was red. Guy said he felt a strange sense of resolution to the situation. “I knew there was something in the apartment and that there was a woman with blue skin living right below me.” Despite finding physical evidence on his body Guy admits that “Strangely enough at that moment, I was not afraid. I found myself really missing Meaghan and wishing she had never left. I guess I was surrendering to the fact that whatever was happening to me was going to happen if I liked it or not.”

Grasping for Reality

Just when Guy thought he was about to lose his sanity and was beginning to resign himself to what was happening in Seattle, he sub-consciously reached for a life-line, his faith in God. He carried his little orange Bible with him everywhere, reading it as often as he could. Guy relates that “Considering everything that had happened the only stable truth I could cling to was my faith that God would protect me.”

For obvious reasons God does not physically react with this world. He does however use individuals to step in at times of crisis to help those who earnestly seek God’s help. It is important to understand that these individuals do not necessarily need to be consciously aware that they are being inspired to help, just have a good heart filled with compassion and respond to the inspiration. Guy is convinced that his ex-wife Mindy was one such individual that God used. He explains, “During these trying times I was still in contact with my ex-wife Mindy.” After the disturbing incidents in Seattle when Mindy asked him to remodel the garage into two bedrooms for their children, Guy jumped at it. “I felt sure that Mindy’s offer was inspired by God as an answer to my prayer for help. The remodeling would get me away from Seattle and by that time I was desperate for some relief from the crazy life.”

Unfortunately, Guy’s relief was short-lived, because Mindy did not want her ex-husband to live at the house while he remodeled the garage. Consequently he was forced to remain at Linda’s house commuting each day about 30 miles to work on the remodeling. What Guy did not realize was the garage was the 3rd location needed for his preparation as the interface.

VII.  Deeper into the Twilight Zone

Guy says he was disappointed that he had to stay in Seattle, but that there was one immediate consequence of the change: he was able to quit using drugs. He told me that he completely understood why Mindy did not want him staying overnight at the house. “I believe that she genuinely wanted to help me but was struggling with my betrayal. I had also told her about some of the crazy things happening to me and she was wary of exposing our children to it.”

When Guy started remodeling Mindy’s garage in the beginning of May he had hoped that the change would mean his life would regain some resemblance of normalcy, but over the next three months he would fall deeper and deeper into the Twilight Zone that his life was quickly becoming. Within a week a new chapter of his life began with some of the strangest events of all.

Mysterious Moths

Up until early May of 2004 the strange events had been confined to people and inanimate objects, but one late spring day Guy would encounter a living moth that appeared to be controlled by some unknown force. This experience is still vividly clear in Guy’s mind as he is able to describe the event in explicit detail. “I am sitting in a chair in the living room of Linda’s house with the front door open. I remember it was a beautiful sunny day and I am all alone in the house. My chair is about 15 feet from the front door and I can feel a cool breeze across my face. I was tired from working on the remodeling and was completely relaxed. Suddenly I heard what I thought was the sound of a rock being thrown at the door. Looking up, I see the ‘rock’ fall to the floor and role over to my feet. Bending down to pick it up I discovered it was not a rock but a motionless dead Moth.”

Guy believes that the moth incident could not have been a natural event because pure dynamics would have made it impossible. “Immediately outside the door was an 8-foot overhang, which blocked the open doorway. Looking at the dead moth in my hands I see that its wings are folded across its body. The perfect symmetry is what sticks in my mind the most.” At the time, Guy had looked for how a living insect could fly at such a velocity to hit the door while maneuvering under an 8-foot over-hang. “I tried to rationalize how the Moth could have ended up at my feet. I am no engineer, but it did not seem natural.”

Unable to unravel the mystery of how a dead moth had landed at his feet, Guy disposed of its lifeless body by throwing into the bushes in Linda’s backyard. Nonetheless, as he drove the 30 miles to Mindy’s the following day he mused over the mystery. Although his ex-wife had initially been unwilling to let her ex-husband stay overnight at her home, after a week she became more comfortable; consequently that evening after Guy finished for the day she suggested that he stay the night. This was a welcome suggestion for Guy as he says, “I must say I really needed her company and gratefully slept on the floor of the garage that was far from being finished.”

After the first rest-full night’s sleep in weeks, Guy woke up early in the morning eager to start work. However as he was about to start work a figure on the window sill caught his eye. He could not believe the coincidence because on the window sill was what appeared to be the exact replica of the dead moth he had thrown into the bushes in Linda’s backyard more than 24 hours earlier. “I was in disbelief! It was lying in the middle of the window sill as if just waiting for me to see it. Needless to say I was a mess. It was one thing for mysterious events that could be explained away as hallucinations through drug use; even if I knew better, but for living beings to be involved it was just too much.” The most disturbing thing for Guy was it happened at Mindy’s, his sanctuary from the madness, or so he thought. Amazingly, Guy was able to portray his terror to me as if it was yesterday. “I can’t stress to you enough the emotional rollercoaster I was on. I was crying and pleading for help from God.”

After he threw the moth away in Mindy’s backyard, he returned to the garage and picked up his orange Bible and began reading. “My little bible is what got me through those sometimes terrifying times. It brought me great comfort and strength. I felt it was essential that I believed that my faith in God in itself was more powerful than what was happening to me. That deep faith was the only thing that kept me sane in the following days.”

Unable to get the mysterious moths out of his head, Guy turned to Bible prophecies for answers. He says, “I can remember one prophecy about giving the earth back to the animals and insects.” This prophecy seemed to make sense to Guy and he began seeing what was happening in terms of fulfilling Bible prophecy. Although deducing what was happening was connected to a biblical event, when another moth appeared on the window sill at Mindy’s house Guy was thrown into abject paranoia. He describes this moth as a bit larger than the other two, but still the same dead moth. “I can’t believe it. In desperation I begin pleading and begging to whoever is listening to help me understand what is happening. It was strange, but I sensed that I was being heard, but still I do not receive an answer.”

Remembering the biblical prophecy about giving the earth back to the animals and insects, Guy ceremoniously carries the moth outside. Raising the dead moth in the air a strange thought enters his head. “I thought I was supposed to start a plague by burying the moth in the ground; thereby fulfilling the prophecy.” If this thought was not strange enough, Guy also somehow understood that if he buried the moth he would receive 64 million dollars. Appalled that he could be responsible for such a travesty, Guy shakes himself out of the virtual trance he was in. Determinedly raising the dead moth over his head Guy solemnly asserts, “I am not the Man for this; it is not my place to start something so great, this is God’s work!”

Having broken the spell he was under Guy takes the moth back inside. In the garage he finds a piece of cloth that he states “I had never seen before. It seemed like a shroud, but I don’t know were it came from. I wrapped the Moth in the shroud very carefully and I put the whole thing in a dresser drawer and I left to go to the store.” Thinking back on the strange incident Guy says “It was a no brainer for me. No amount of money could have persuaded me to bury that moth if I thought I was going to start a plague.” His eyes clouded over when he continued, “I was only gone for maybe a half an hour and I don’t know why, but when I got back I opened the drawer to check on the dead moth. The cloth was where I had left it, but when I took out the cloth and unfolded it the dead moth was gone and I wept.” Gathering himself visibly together, Guy said “The disappearance of the third moth was not the worst of it because there was another moth only this one would not be dead and it absolutely terrified me.”

Moth Four - A Living Symbol?

During the month of May, Guy divided his time between his ex-wife’s just outside Tacoma and Linda’s in Seattle. He knew that Meaghan was back from her trip to Utah, but they had not been in contact. While working in the garage an overwhelming need to contact Meaghan overcame him and after staying over night at Mindy’s, early the next morning he drove to Meaghan’s apartment building.

On the drive he mulled over the strange and inexplicable events he’d experienced since he last saw Meaghan and thought about what he would say to her. Pulling up outside the familiar building Guy felt apprehensive, but he says the need to see her “out-weighed my uneasiness.” The bizarre experience with the disappearing moth was still fresh in his mind as he walked toward the high metal fence surrounding the building. Reaching the imposing front gate Guy thought to himself “the whole place was like a fortress. It felt really strange to be back after everything that had happened there.” Because it was early in the morning the gate was locked. Guy had expected this and quickly climbed over the locked gate. As the manager of the building Meaghan had installed security cameras at strategic points, which she had transmit directly to monitors in her apartment; consequently Guy knew that she would have seen him approaching the building. As Meaghan had not electronically unlocked the gate he surmised that she was probably still asleep. Clambering over the gate Guy thought how easy it was for someone to gain access to the building, once over anyone had complete access. Meaghan’s apartment was on the top floor and so he began running up the three flights of stairs to her door.

Stepping up to the last set of stairs while running through his mind what he would say to Meaghan, Guy stops suddenly in his tracks transfixed by what he sees. At the top of the flight of stairs was a large window and perched on the window sill is a large moth. Guy relates, “I stop at the second step down and fall to my knees. The moth is perched right in the middle of the sill with its feet hanging over the sill. It looked exactly like the moth that disappeared from the shroud I wrapped it in a few days earlier. But this moth is very much alive and seems to be staring directly at me and meeting me eye to eye.” This was the last thing Guy needed to see in the apartment building and tears again began streaming down his face. Completely losing all rational thought Guy began praying to the moth. “For some reason I felt the need to ask the moth for forgiveness. Yes I know this is nuts, but I was not even remotely thinking clearly at the time and remember this is the fourth incident with the mysterious moths.” Despite his distress at coming across yet another moth in of all places Meaghan’s apartment building, Guy says, “God help me I got off my knees in front of the moth and went to knock on Meaghan’s door, but there was no answer so I left and drove back to Mindy’s.”

VIII.  Can I Trust My Senses

Considering the prevalence of the moth in Guy’s life at that time, appearing four times in the month of May, I was curious to see the spiritual relevance to the symbol or totem. Moths are inextricably linked to butterflies, but where the butterfly appears during the day the moth only appears at night. However, both insects according the Ted Andrews Animal Speak: the Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great & Small represents transmutation. He writes that “Butterfly (Moth) medicine reminds us….Transformation is inevitable, but….growth and change does not have to be traumatic.”

In view of the sheer terror the four moths incited in Guy, Mr. Andrews’ explanation of the moth appearing in his life did not appear correct. But when viewed energetically the moths indicate how deep a level the transformation was taking place in Guy. Archetypally the moths represent the Moon, the subconscious, feminine, passive, negative, and emotions. However, it would be quite some time before Guy would have the slightest inkling as to what was happening to him. In May of 2004 all he knew was that it seemed like there was a concerted effort from multiple influences to drive him insane. This was never so evident to Guy in what was going on with his sister Lesley and a mysterious stray dog.

Ray & The Stray Dog?

Guy’s suspicion that there were multiple forces trying to influence him turned to certainty in the merry month of May, only it did not turn out too merry for Guy, because an extremely strange person entered his life. Guy had fallen into a routine of using recreational drugs with Linda and his sister Lesley at Linda’s house. One weekend in early May arriving at the house, Guy found that Linda and Lesley had a visitor. The visitor’s name was Ray and from the instant he laid eyes on the man, the hairs on the back of Guy’s neck stood up.

A few days after crossing paths with Ray, Guy’s instincts proved right when he experienced something that made him doubt his own senses. This morning Guy was dozing on the couch half asleep when the sound of the door opening woke him up. Staying in a reclined position Guy watched from under his ball-cap as he heard an invisible presence walk past him to the adjacent couch positioned at a 90 degree angle next to him and appeared to plop down. Although Guy could not see the “person”, he says “The cushion depressed as if a person’s full body weight had dropped down onto it. Within a few minutes the sound of snoring begins to emanate from the couch.” Struck with terror, Guy is frozen unable to believe what he is seeing. “I could clearly hear the sound of snoring and the cushions to the couch were depressed and no matter how I tried to rationalize it, whatever or whoever was on the couch was invisible.”

Lying on the couch, from her bedroom, Guy heard Linda’s voice call out to her children to get up for school. Wondering what would happen when Linda and her children came into the room, Guy watched as the adjacent couch’s cushions moved as if a “person” jumped up from the couch. Then he heard the sound of running footsteps past him as the invisible presence opened the door and ran out of the house. “There is no way I can be sure, but I sensed that the invisible presence was Ray.”

With Ray a regular visitor to Linda’s house, not to mention his suspicious group of friends that Guy thought of as a pack, by the end of May Guy had become really concerned for his sister Lesley. He had observed the struggle for power between his sister and Linda for months until it reached a stalemate and they had finally ended the friendship and became enemies. As stated, the people that Lesley was involved with worried Guy. However, until the end of May Guy was only speculating about something possessing his sister but that speculation grew closer to a certainty when he came face to face with a mysterious stray dog Lesley was trying to find a home for.

Guy first became aware that his sister had a stray dog when Lesley called Mindy, out of the blue, asking her to take a stray in. This had immediately aroused his suspicions. Guy shares the reason why, “Lesley had out-worn her welcome with Mindy and the two women had not spoken for many years. I knew that Mindy would be the last person my sister would ask for help, so it made me wonder. The other thing that aroused my suspicions about the whole thing was my sister could not have pets in her apartment so it made no sense for her to agree to take in a stray in the first place.”

When Guy later asked Lesley how she came to have the dog her answer was vague and she mumbled that a friend had given her the dog. Guy observed, “She would not meet my eyes and something in her behavior made me think she was lying although I did not know why.”

When Mindy refused the request to give the dog a home saying that she did not have the room, apparently forgetting her quarrel with Linda, Lesley asked her ex-friend to take the dog. Knowing his sister’s ability to hold a grudge for what seemed forever; Guy knew that Lesley would only go cap-in-hand, so to speak, to an enemy if there was something in it for her. Musing it over in his mind the thought that something extremely dangerous had possessed Lesley, surfaced again. The question was what did Lesley or whatever it was that was controlling her stand to gain from finding a home for a poor helpless animal?

Although Linda could not have pets in her house and indeed did not want any, Guy was amazed when she agreed to take the dog. The whole thing puzzled Guy and the small detail that his sister had approached both his ex-wife and Linda, the owners of the two locations where he slept, flashed across his mind. Thinking he was being ridiculous Guy dismissed the thought. However, that thought was less easy to dismiss when he came face to face with the stray ‘dog’. He relates, ““When I first saw the dog I was immediately taken aback. Although it seemed to be a small terrier mix I had never seen a dog that looked so human before in my life.” Guy adds, “Its eyes were the same as a person’s and when the dog looked at me I found it very unsettling to say the least. It appeared that whatever you said to the animal it acted as if it understood. I am not referring to the family dog responding to commands; I mean the dog appeared to understand conversations. It would lie on the floor with its ears pricked up watching every move I made. I could not get rid of the feeling that this was no ordinary dog.”

The mysterious dog continued to make Guy uncomfortable. He relates that on one occasion, “I was sitting in the living room at Linda’s house, which coincidentally was the same room I had encountered the first moth, with a friend (We’ll call her Alice) of Linda’s and the dog. We were alone and the dog was lying on a chair opposite watching me with its front paws crossed and as Alice was as unnerving as Lesley and Linda, I wasn’t exactly relaxed.” Seeing that Guy was uncomfortable Alice began taunting him. Feeling defensive Guy says he went on the offensive and started “being a smart ass to Alice.” Aware that the dog was watching Guy kept glancing at the animal. He expounds, “I defiantly responded to Alice with my best game face, but she would not let up. Eventually her taunting began to ware me down and in attempt to regain control; I casually dismissed Alice by getting up and throwing over my shoulder that I’m going to lay down for awhile.”

Unfortunately, Guy’s bravado did not shake Alice and she followed him out of the room. As they had both exited the dog had jumped off of the chair and followed Alice. Guy describes the event that followed as one of the most terrifying of his whole experience. “The door to the bedroom I was in had a huge gap underneath because the house was so old. The gap was so wide you could easily roll a golf ball under the door. I had just closed the door when I heard a knock and through the door I heard Alice say, ‘Guy come out and play with us.’ Standing by the closed door I could clearly see Alice’s shadow underneath the door as she walked away.

About to turn away another shadow approaching the bedroom door stopped me. It was the shadow of the dog and when the shadow stopped in front of the door it changed shape. Feeling like I was in an episode of the X-Files I watched as the shadow of the dog morphed into the shadow of a man. Absolutely terrified as I watched the shadow metamorphosing a male voice came through the door and said, ‘Yes Guy come out and play with us.’ Immediately afterward the shadow walked away.” Had this happened a few months earlier when he was using drugs, Guy would have gladly put it down to a hallucination. But he was stone cold sober and clear headed; well as clear headed as anyone could be facing a dog metamorphosing into a human being, Guy knew he had not imagined it. After he was alone he thought about what he should do. He did not trust anyone else in the house so Guy turned to the only source of comfort available to him his little orange bible and his connection to God.

Even now the episode with the stray dog disturbs him and whenever he would speak of it to me his remembered terror was almost palpable. He relates that at the time he had to silence his anguish as he did not want anyone in the house to know. His rational mind tried to reason that he did not see what he thought he did and yet the scene and voice was indelibly seared onto his brain. He could not and cannot deny the truth of what he saw, although at the time he had no clue as to what that was. After Guy calmed down, he says, “I finally acquired the courage to open the door. Leaving Linda’s home without speaking to anyone, I drove straight to Mindy’s house.”

Super Fly

By early June in 2004 Guy was beginning to regain some of his composure, but whoever or whatever was messing with him was not finished with him. Even though he was staying at Linda’s with the “dog” he never saw the dog “change” again. Guy emphatically says, “I cannot stress too strongly that all through the spring of 2004 I had no clue about what was happening to me it was all I could do to still function.” Looking back on the situation Guy says, “Things were happening so fast and there were so many weird events during that year that they all became a blur.” After the incident with the stray “dog”, Guy had a couple of weeks of relative quiet. The next incident again involved an insect only this time it was a fly.

In early June, Guy was still remodeling the garage at Mindy’s and he had finished for the day and he was cleaning up for the night. By this time the remodeling was quite a ways along. “I have the walls sheet-rocked and the light switches in. I’ve installed a fan in each room with a light mounted on the fan.” While sweeping the floor Guy’s eye caught a movement above him and he looks up. On the newly installed fan he sees a very large fly. He says, “I got a really strange feeling from this fly that it was not normal.”

Guy had told me that after the moth incident he had noticed an inordinate number of insects at Mindy’s house, but that this fly was different. Feeling irritated at the fly and trying to dismiss the memories of the four moths Guy picked up a magazine and rolled it up. “I hit the fly with the magazine and it hit the wall and dropped to the ground. Then what does it do, but shudder a few times as if shaking itself off and fly right back to the same spot on the fan.” Feeling a strong sense of déjà vu, Guy exclaimed “OH MY GOD! You must be kidding me! I can’t believe it.” While angry frustrated tears streamed down his face, Guy hit the fly with the magazine with all of his strength. Sighing he says, “I hit it as hard as I could right against the wall and it fell apparently lifeless to the floor.” Nonetheless, defying all the natural laws again the fly took to the air and returned to its perch on the fan. Guy explains, “Before hitting the fly for the third and final time, I think to myself ‘don’t hit it, this is no ordinary fly’, but I have to kill this fly and end the craziness.” Unfortunately this was no ordinary fly and it again defied all logic and flew back up to the fan. At this point, Guy gave up and dropping the rolled up magazine to the floor opened a window to let the fly out. Opening the window he watched as this “super-fly slowly circled the room three times as if taking victory laps. Then it flew right by my face on the way out the window and I was thinking WOW this is truly nuts.”

The worst thing for Guy was that there was no one he could talk to about what was happening to him. How could he tell anyone that he saw the shadow of a dog turn into the shadow of a man and then speak, or that he had done battle with a “super-fly” that could not be killed, not to mention the mysterious disappearing moths? He knew he sounded crazy and believed that his friends and family would have had him committed to the mental asylum. No, until he got to the bottom of it he would have to keep it to himself and besides the “stray dog” was still in the picture, only this time it was attached to Meaghan.

Meaghan and the “Dog?”

While Guy and Meaghan were together he had introduced her to Linda. After coming across the moth in Meaghan’s apartment building, Guy had stayed away and the chasm between them had widened. Although Meaghan was estranged from Guy, she still stayed in contact with Linda so he knew in mid-June that Meaghan was back from Utah. However, she was only back for a short while and was planning to return to Utah within a week or two. Knowing Meaghan’s plans from Linda, Guy was surprised when Linda called her to ask her if she wanted to take the “dog” and was equally surprised when Meaghan eagerly agreed.

Guy recalls that he knew Meaghan taking the dog had something to do with him. “I felt since both people my sister contacted to take the dog, was also where I was staying, this indicated I was the target. At first, Linda offering the ‘dog’ to Meaghan did not concern me. True I was a little surprised, but we were separated and whatever was in the dog ‘it’ would not have access to me, or so I thought.”

After Meaghan left for Utah with the ‘dog’, Guy had a premonition that the animal was going to die on the trip and whatever was in the dog would transfer to Meaghan. Thinking he was being ridiculous despite everything that had happened he ignored the premonition. But when Meaghan called Linda a few days later and Linda relayed to Guy that the dog had been run over on the free way while Meaghan was getting gas, he was reminded of his premonition. He explains, “I was worried that perhaps my second prediction was true also and that whatever was in the dog was now in her.

In spite of the premonition Guy agreed to remodel Meaghan’s bathroom for her while she was away. During the remodeling he found something that made him think about what was in the apartment again. He says, “I had put up some shelving in the apartment using one kind of screw to install the shelves. But the next day, I noticed that one of the screws seemed different from the ones I used. I had used stainless steel and this screw looked very different, not to mention it was askew from the rest.”

Although he was puzzled by the mysterious screw, Guy put it out of his head and finished the remodeling of the bathroom. Finishing long before Meaghan returned, Guy did not intend running into her again. However, fate or whatever was controlling his life at the time had other ideas and he met up with Meaghan again when she finally returned from Utah. Apparently confirming his premonition, he observed a drastic change in Meaghan and felt like asking “Who are you and what have you done with Meaghan”, but never did. Abandoning every warning bell and despite his certainty about the change to Meaghan, Guy somehow got pulled into her orbit again.

It was outside Meaghan’s apartment building that Guy met up with Meaghan again. He had arranged to meet her outside, he cannot recall exactly, but he thinks they were meeting for him to collect something from her. By this time the previous events had taken their toll and Guy described himself as “a broken man. Meaghan pulled up next to me in her car and we just sat there; neither of us looking at the other person. Seeing her again for some strange reason humbled me and I was uncertain about her, she was so different.”

After a few minutes Guy got into the passenger side of Meaghan’s car and taking him by surprise she asked, “Have you ever seen a plate spider. They have one at the pet store a few miles from here lets go see it, okay?” Almost like an automaton Guy accedes to Meaghan’s request and accompanies her in her car to the pet store. On the way Meaghan unnerved Guy when she showed him two walkie-talkies. He was thinking about why Meaghan would need two walkie-talkies when she pulled the car up outside the pet store. Knowing exactly where her quarry was, Meaghan headed straight for the back of the store. As the plate spider was on the top shelf inside a terrarium, Meaghan climbed a nearby ladder to get a better look inside. However, to her disappointment the plate spider was no longer there. Guy was feeling decidedly small as she looked down on him. Asking a sales person about the item they learned that it had been sold.

Needing the restroom, Guy inquired in the pet store but was directed to a nearby McDonald’s. Before Guy left Meaghan she retrieved one of the walkie-talkies from her car and handed it to Guy telling him he needed to take it with him. Walking to McDonald’s, Guy mused over his lack of back-bone to stand up to Meaghan, but at the time he could not overcome the irrational fear he had of her. Turning to go inside the MacDonald’s he could see Meaghan standing by her car. About to go through the door Guy observed a white car with tinted windows pull up alongside her as she bent down to converse with the driver. A shiver ran down his spine and Guy was certain the woman was up to something; the question was what? In the restroom of MacDonald’s, Guy heard crackling over his walkie-talkie. “By now my fear is mixed with anger and I was thinking to myself if this is supposed to be funny, I am not laughing.”

After Guy related the story to me I asked him who Meaghan was speaking to in the white car. “I don’t know for sure, because by the time I got back to her the car had driven off. But I suspect that the occupants were most probably connected to Ray and what I called his pack.” When I raised my eyebrows Guy added, “Ray and his pack were living on and off at Linda’s place and as I said were really weird. Apart from my suspicion that Ray was the invisible presence I had seen in early May, I had a physical confrontation with one of his pack over a pair of boots my sister Lesley had given me years earlier. But before that, I need to tell you what happened in Linda’s kitchen.”

IX.  Down the Rabbit Hole

Quite frankly, having spent a great deal of time listening to Guy recount the events I am amazed that he did not lose his mind, but like so many other people he was a great deal stronger than he thought and consequently was able to bounce back after each episode. However, in the summer and early fall of 2004 his ability to hold onto reality would be tested to the very limit.

Digging for the Truth

Guy had never forgotten about the weird sting or bite he experienced in his lapse of judgment with Linda in Meaghan’s bed. This was because the bump on his abdomen was a constant irritation continually flaring up. In late June Guy was alone in the kitchen of Linda’s house when he became aware of a presence that appeared to be surrounding him. Backing into the corner he felt trapped by something invisible. Suddenly he felt needle-like pin pricks on his abdomen as if someone or something was poking him. He explains, “I had moved into the corner so that they couldn’t surround me but it wasn’t working. I couldn’t get away from whatever this was. I don’t know why, but it was at that moment I knew I had to get rid of whatever was in my stomach.”

Memories of that shameful night with Linda overwhelmed Guy and he knew the “sting” he felt that night was the insertion of something under his skin. He was reminded of the strange screw he found while remodeling Meaghan’s bathroom and the thought that it was some kind of tracking device entered his head; although he had no clue as to who was tracking him or for that matter why anyone would want to. In the kitchen feeling trapped by something invisible the certainty that there was a transmitter under his skin caused Guy to panic. Grabbing a knife he began using the tip on his abdomen. Recollecting his feelings at the time Guy says, “As I tried to dig it out of my stomach I could feel them poking me. It was as if they were trying to stop me, but I was a man obsessed; I had to get whatever it was out of my stomach. After a few minutes I was bleeding profusely, but this did not deter me. With one last burst of desperation I squeezed the area as hard as I could with two fingers. I watched in amazement as a little silver strand no longer than a quarter of an inch popped out. Oh my God! Everything stopped as if time was standing still. The invisible beings stopped poking me as I looked intently at the little silver strand in disbelief. As I mouthed the words ‘What the hell is that!!!’ the ‘strand’ disappeared as if sucked back into my body.” Surprisingly Guy did not seek medical attention for what he found in his stomach and as his “digging” was not that deep; the wound only required a band-aid to protect it from infection.

Ray & His Pack

In early July 2004 he again experienced an encounter with seemingly invisible beings in Linda’s house, but this time Guy was sure of their identities. This encounter involved Meaghan and the mysterious Ray. As stated Guy had been unnerved by the individuals his sister Lesley and Linda were involved with that were masquerading as members of the gay community. Guy called these mysterious individuals the “pack” because they reminded him of a pack of wolves, although he did not know why.

At first I had wondered if because of everything that was happening to Guy he was being a little paranoid, but after he related a disturbing run in with one of the pack I could see why. It was earlier that spring while remodeling Mindy’s garage. “Finishing work for the day at Mindy’s I was looking for my boots that I’d left in the house, but they were nowhere to be found. A week later the thought that Meghan was in some kind-of danger compelled me to drive to Linda’s house. At the house the door was opened a crack by one of the pack, however he did not invite me in. Instead when I asked for Meaghan he held the door and sheepishly told me she was not there. Certain she was there I pushed him out the way and went through the house looking for her. While searching the house I was amazed to find on the laundry room floor my lost boots. How they got there I haven’t got a clue.”

I asked Guy if he ever found Meaghan and thinking for a moment he said, “No and strangely enough after I found my boots the feeling that she was in danger diminished. In fact I didn’t even try to find her and did not see her again for several years.” When Guy first told me this it made me wonder what had caused him to be compelled to look for Meaghan at Linda’s house. After all she had her own place and had never stayed with Linda; however this particular mystery would pale in comparison with future events.

Returning to the time-line I asked Guy when he first encountered Ray, the pack’s unofficial leader. “Ray had turned up around the time that Lesley had brought the ‘dog’ to Linda’s. Almost immediately he seemed to take charge of the other boys staying at Linda’s, but his presence added something sinister. I began to sense there was something evil associated with Ray and the pack and that Linda, her children, and my sister were in serious trouble.”

As was becoming a regular routine for Guy in Linda’s house, he was reading his little orange Bible in the master bedroom. “I am reading and praying for help when suddenly the door to the bedroom swung open and I heard someone run into the bedroom. I could hear a voice crying that sounded like Meaghan. My mind denied this as I knew that she was not in the house and yet I also knew it was her. She sounded panicked and her voice was muffled as if she was talking through a veil. Although, I saw nothing I felt the bed depress as if someone had sat down beside me. The sobbing became louder as the bed began to shake.”

The entire incident was so bizarre that even today Guy is still unnerved by what happened. He related, “I do not know how, but something inside me knew that this was somehow connected to Ray and his pack.” That day in the master bedroom, almost in a trance, Guy had asked, “Oh my God Meaghan he’s got you doesn’t he.” He was a little shocked when he heard a muffled voice answer in the affirmative a moment later.

Intrigued I asked Guy what he thought had “got” Meaghan and he reminded me that whatever had been in the “stray dog” had transferred to Meaghan. Evidently whatever this being was it moved around quite a lot, because on this warm July afternoon Guy learned it was no longer in Meaghan. Asking the sobbing invisible woman where it was. Her answer, although muffled as if coming from a great distance was still audible when she said that it was in Ray, which did not surprise Guy. Then he heard what sounded like someone running out of the bedroom. As silence descended onto the room Guy felt the need to pray. Despite his problems with Meaghan, her anguish affected him and he found himself crying a few tears of empathy. However, he relates, “If I’m brutally honest some of those tears were my fear of finding out that what had been in the dog and Meaghan was now in Ray who I knew was alone in the house with me.”

Eventually Guy plucked up the courage to leave the bedroom and determined to leave the house immediately while avoiding Ray at all costs. But once again fate or something would intervene to place Ray in Guy’s path again. Planning his escape Guy suddenly remembered his tank was empty and that he didn’t have any money. As no one else was in the house Guy had no alternative but to ask his nemesis for the cash. Terrified by what was in Ray, Guy decided to go to the bathroom before he confronted him. Placing a lighter on the small table outside the bathroom, he was a little disconcerted to find it gone when he came out. As the bathroom was next to the kitchen Guy looked for his lighter there. While looking for it Guy’s attention was caught by a movement outside the kitchen window in the backyard. Ray was standing by the garage looking at Guy and in his hand he was idly flicking the lighter Guy had left outside the bathroom.

Realizing that Ray had somehow taken the lighter to ensure that Guy would have to see him, Guy steeled himself to face the pack’s leader. Thinking how ironic it was to have to ask Ray for help, Guy went outside. “As I walked out the back door Ray was watching me from under his hat, which was tipped down so that you could just see his piercing blue eyes. There was a smirk on his face as if he was laughing at me as I went up to him.”

Obviously Ray felt he was totally in control of the situation and let Guy know this fact in no uncertain terms by saying, “there is nothing you can do about it.” Guy chose not to comment on the bizarre statement and forced himself to look directly at this strange man. Taking a deep breath Guy asked Ray for his lighter and to lend him $2 for gas to get him home. Without saying a word Ray reached into his pocket and pulled out two dollar bills and handed both the bills and the lighter to Guy. Feeling like he had escaped some terrible danger Guy took the bills and lighter and then thanking Ray hastily jumped into his car and drove off

While in the car Guy thought about his strange encounter with Ray. The comment that Guy could do nothing “about it” had resonated strongly with him and reminded him of something, but he could not remember what. As he covered the 30 miles to Mindy’s home, the memory of Linda behind the wheel swaying back and forth while laughing and crying popped into his mind. Suddenly he realized that Ray had been taunting him with his inability to help any of the women involved in his nightmare.
